[This man was a highly respected citizen at England, Arkansas. He was a member of the Baptist Church there. My great aunt, who has lived to be well over 100 years old, wrote a story for me before her death about 10 years ago. In it, she mentioned that Mr. Schooley and my great grandfather who had served with the 5th Tenn. CSA would come out behind (meaning be off with the words) on songs. She had thought that was so funny when she was a child.

February 23, 1922: Captain B. F. Schooley (1843-1922), 79, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of England died on February 11. He came to Arkansas in 1863 from Illinois with Steel's Army when it occupied Little Rock. Shortly after the war, being favorably impressed with this state, he engaged in the lumber business. For sixteen years, he was England's postmaster until five year ago when he retired. Burial was at Mulberry.
