Oct. 27 - Weather clear. Skirmishing heavy Artillery firing near Lookout.
Oct. 28 - Weather clear. Hard fighting on our right all day and it is kept up all night. Our men are driving the rebels from Lookout Mountain and Trenton Valley. Our men have a position across the line.
Oct. 29 - Weather rainy. Heavy fighting today along the foot of Lookout and in the Trenton Valley very much.
Oct. 30 - Weather cloudy. Fighting as usual our men are driving the rebels back.

Nov. 28 - Rainy. Several hundred prisoners passed by here for the rear.

Dec. 1 - Clear. We moved our post on the top of the mountain on the new military road from Kellyís ferry to Whiteside.
Dec. 2 - Clear.

Dec. 4 - Clear. Ordered to report to our regiment as we was relieved of courier duty.
Dec. 5 - Clear. Marched to Bridgeport.
Dec. 6 - Clear. Received new saddles and bridles.
Dec. 7 - Clear. Drew our guns and then marched to our reg near Stevenson.
Dec. 8 - Rainy and unpleasant. Drew new clothing.
Dec. 9 - Cloudy.
Dec. 10 - Clear and pleasant.
Dec. 11 - Clear.
Dec. 12 - Rainy and muddy but warm.
Dec. 13 - Rainy and unpleasant.

Dec. 18 - Clear. Moved to Bridgeport.

Dec. 20 - Clear. Moved one mile south of Bridgeport.
Dec. 21 - Clear. Got orders to go to our Brigade at Huntsville Ala.
Dec. 22 - Clear. Marched at eight and camped for the night in our old camp near Stevenson.
Dec. 23 - Clear. Marched at daylight over a swampy and muddy road. Camped 20 miles from Stevenson near the town of Bellefonte. All of the largest buildings including the courthouse are burnt.
Dec. 24 - Clear. Moved at sunrise our road today is sure better than yesterday. We passed threw the towns of Ledsburg and Larkensville and camped five miles from the latter place.
Dec. 25 - Christmas is cloudy but warm. We marched the same time as yesterday. At Brownsboro we met Col. Wilder who had been home on furlough. We camped for the night five miles from Huntsville.
Dec. 26 - Rainy. Moved to town and drew rations and went into camp one mile from town in the old camp of our Brigade who had gone to Pulaski Tenn.
Dec. 27 - Rainy and warm.
Dec. 28 - Cloudy and cold. Company K went out foraging.
Dec. 29 - Clear.
Dec. 30 - Cloudy. Our company K and Company H went out to pick up horses and mules.
Dec. 31 - Rainy. Got orders to march at nine. Moved in the direction of Pulaski and camped for the night ten miles from Huntsville. This brings us to the end of the year 1863.
Jan 1 1864 - Clear and very cold for this time of year. Moved at sunrise camped at Elton springs.
Jan 2 - Cloudy. Marched at noon over a rough road and camped near the town of Elkton. Some warmer than yesterday.
Jan 3 - Cloudy and warmer. We moved across Elk River and camped five miles from Onlas. It rained all night.
Jan 4 - Rain. Moved at six toward Pulaski and camped two miles from the town.
Jan 5 - Rainy.
Jan. 6 - Cloudy and cold.
Jan. 7 - Hazy and cold.
Jan. 8 - Clear and cold.
Jan. 9 - Clear and cold.
Jan. 10 - Cloudy and cold.
Jan. 12 - Cloudy. Left Pulaski marched to Elkton and forded the river and camped at Elkton Springs.
Jan 13 - Clear and pleasant. Marched ten miles and camped twelve miles from Huntsville.
Jan 14 - Clear and warm. Marched threw Huntsville and camped two miles south of the town.
Jan. 15 - Clear and warm.
Jan. 16 - Clear and pleasant.
May 7 - Left Ringold at 3 on this morning marched down the west side of Taylorís Ridge and crossed the ridge at Jack Gap. Drove the rebels back nearly to Tunnel Hill and as the Infantry came up we moved south/west and camped at Gordonís Gap
May 8 - Left our camp at the gap an hour after sunrise moved down the Rome road seven miles to a small town called Villanow here we stayed until nearly night and then moved back and camped one mile from where we had camped the night. The infantry having relieved us at the town.
May 9 - Left camp and moved to Villanow and camped for the night. The road is very dusty.
May 10 - Rain all day. Left Villanow at noon and moved down the road toward the town of Resaca and camped seven miles from the place. It rained very hard all night.
May 11 - Moved back one mile and went into camp. Weather clear.
May 12 - Clear Our reg and the tenth Ohio Cav. went out in the direction of the railroad some five miles and had a skirmish with the rebel Cav. We had one man wounded. Three army corps. arrived today.
May 13 - Left camp a little after sunrise. Went on the Resaca Road, skirmished with the rebels and drove them back. Gen. Kilpatrick was wounded in the morning at the commencing of the skirmishing. In the afternoon our regiment guarded the right wing of the army. The fighting continued until after night. We camped near where the Gen. was wounded. Weather clear.
May 14 - Clear. The skirmishing commenced at daylight soon after we was ordered to the right wing to do picket duty. The 11th Infantry came up in the afternoon and drove the rebels pickets back from the river and put a pontoon bridge across. Tonight a large force of our infantry crossed the river. The fighting continued until long after dark. Our men drove the rebels from their riflepits at dark.
May 15/16 - Cloudy. Our regiment was relieved at sundown and went into camp but had hardly got camped before we got orders to saddle up again went to Calhoun Ferry and stayed until 3 a.m. When we went into camp again. Three hours and then we was ordered to saddle and started for the 2 Division on the Rome road twenty miles distance. At sundown we started with the second division on our return and crossed the Oostanaula River near the Calhoun Ferry and went into camp one half mile from the river. Weather cloudy. The rebels left Resaca in the morning.
May 17 - Rainy. We was ordered to saddle and fall in line but did not leave so we went into camp again. At four in the afternoon we saddled and moved down the Rome Road some seven miles and went into camp for the night.
May 18 - Left camp in the morning and moved down the Kingston road and camped south of the town of Adairsville. Weather clear and warm.
May 19 - Clear and warm. Left in the morning and marched threw the town of Kingston and camped four miles south of the town the inhabitants have nearly all left town.
May 20 - Clear left camp at seven marched back threw Kingston and Adairsville and camped four miles north of the town. The cars got into Kingston today.
May 21 - Clear. Marched to within one mile of Resaca and camped.
May 22 - Clear. Moved back toward the front and camped in our old camp four miles from Adairsville.
May 23 - Clear. Moved to Kingston with some stragglers and camped near the town.
May 24 - Clear. Returned to our Division near Adairsville in the morning. In the afternoon got news of Wheeler burning some wagons near Cassville. Our regiment and the 10 Ohio was ordered to march in the direction of the place. We covered three miles but Wheeler had gone.
May 25 - Cloudy. We returned to our camp. Rain in the night.
May 26 - Cloudy.
May 27 - Clear and warm.
May 28 - Clear
May 29 - Clear and warm. A sermon by the chaplain.
May 30 - Clear and warm. William H. Clark returned to the camp.
May 31 - Clear. William Speran returned.
Aug. 2 - Rainy Left Calhoun marched to Carton
Aug. 3 - Rainy Left Carton at noon marched five miles from Alltoona.
Aug. 4 - Cloudy. Marched within three miles of Sandtown.
Aug. 25 - Weather clear. Left our camp at sundown marched to Dog Creek on the Sandtown road. Stood picket near the creek.
Aug. 26 - Clear. After fixing the bridge over the creek we returned to camp. At 3a.m. we was ordered to saddle and march out the same road as yesterday and stopped near the creek .
Aug. 27 - Clear. Left camp at noon to march two miles of the railroad and camped.
Aug. 28 - Clear. Left camp at sunrise marched to the railroad after some skirmishing we went back to camp one mile from Sandtown.
Aug 29 - Clear. Our regiment was on picket duty.
Aug 30 - Clear. Broke camp at six marched down Jonesborough Road had considerable skirmishing along the road. At dark our regiment was sent to the right of the Jonesborough Road and quite a fight, losing some 25 men. Having to much opposition we had to fall back Augustus Stolhut & Ed Trash was wounded from Co. K. At ten we went into camp two miles in the south of Jonesborough.
Aug. 31 - Clear. Called up and saddled, moved back and unsaddled and fed our horses. At eleven we was ordered to saddle up our Brigade moved to the right of the line. Had some skirmishing. Albert Bissell of Co. K was wounded. At night we fell back and went into camp two miles from our camp of last night.
Sept. 1 - Clear. Ordered to saddle at sunrise and moved to the same place as yesterday. Held the ground until night when the 17 & 6 came up and relieved us and we moved back two miles and camped for the night.
Sept. 2 - Clear. Called out at sunrise marched five miles southward and built a bridge over the Flint River and our regiment stayed at the bridge all night. Had some skirmishing.
Sept. 3 - Raining. We was relieved at the bridge at eight by the eight Ind. And we moved back to our horses. At four P.M. we saddled and after some delay we marched some five miles in the direction of Love Joy Station and layed down for the night without unsaddling our horses.
Sept. 4 - Weather changeable. I went on picket on the Fayetteville Road considerable skirmishing near our right.
Sept 5 - Rainy. Ordered from picket at noon. Our regiment commenced to fall back at nine and stopped three miles from Jonesborough at five in the morning.
Sept. 6 - Rainy. Our regiment was on picket for the morning and was relieved for the afternoon and camped on the ground one mile southwest of the picket post.
Sept. 7 - Cloudy. Saddled at seven moved back slowly over nearly the same road we had been before and camped on the railroad between Jonesborough and East Point.
Sept. 8 - Cloudy. Saddled at eight A.M. marched six miles and went into camp six miles from Sandtown and eleven from Atlanta. Our Co. And Co. D detailed in the afternoon for picket.
Sept. 9 - Clear. Our Company was relieved from picket at ten A.M.
Sept. 18 - Clear and pleasant.
Oct. 1 - Left our camp at Mt. Gilead at five in the morning marched to Sandtown and crossed the Chattahochee River and build a bridge and crossed. Some of our brigade had a skirmish and at night we went a crossed the bridge and went into camp. Raining. Our company on picket.
Oct. 2 - Raining. Crossed the river and scouted some three miles from the river and at night crossed the river again and camped three miles up the creek.
Oct. 3 - Rainy. Left our camp at seven, marched up the river four miles and built a bridge and crossed. Our brigade and our regiment had several men killed and wounded Bloss & Sheldon & Rowl of Co. K Bloss died at seven P.M.
Oct. 4 - Rainy. After drawing rations we moved out on the Marietta Road some eight miles and camped one and half west of the town and in sight of Kenesaw Mountain.
Oct. 5 - Rainy. Marched out on the Dallas Road some three miles and was then ordered on the Sandtown Road to an old mill about one mile from the Marietta & Powder Spring Road and went into camp for the night.
Oct. 6 - Rainy. Layed in camp at the old mill.
Oct. 7 - Cloudy. Left camp at seven marched to Powder Springs. After on the Dallas Road had some skirmishing. At night we camped near Sweetwater Creek.
Oct. 8 - Clear. Saddled up at three in the morning moved back to near the old mill and went into camp. Got orders to have our horses all saddled tonight.
Oct. 9 - Clear and cool. Left our camp at eleven A.M. marched out on the Marietta & Dallas Road and camped four miles east of Dallas.
Oct. 10 - Clear. Saddled at eleven and marched, left the Dallas Road and took the Van Wert Road had considerable skirmishing but moved the rebels from the town and went on picket in the town.
Oct. 11 - Clear. Done some scouting in the forenoon and in the afternoon went into camp near the town.
Oct. 12 - Clear. Left camp at noon took the Rome Road marched twelve miles and went into camp ten miles from Rome.
Oct. 13 - Clear. Left camp at seven marched to within two miles of town and fed our horses and then we went on a scout in the direction of Powder Spring. At night we returned and camped for the night near where we had been at noon.
Oct. 14 - Cloudy. Left our camp at ten and marched on the Stilesborough Road and camped three miles west of the place on the Etowah River.
Oct. 15 - Clear. Went on picket on the Alabama Road near the river about two miles from Stilesborough.
Oct. 16 - Clear. Our division moved at seven and I was relieved from picket. Soon after marched threw Stilesborough and camped at night at Burnt Hickory.
Oct. 17 - Clear and cold winds. Left our camp at Burnt Hickory and moved back on the road to Stilesborough and camped one mile from the place.
Oct. 18 - Clear and pleasant.
Oct. 19 - Clear. Left our camp at two P.M. advanced to Dallas by way of Burnt Hickory.
Oct. 20 - Clear. Scouted threw the country and at night camped at Malravens Mill.
Oct. 21 - Clear. Murray and Withers of our regiment went on a scout at daybreak and returned from the ride at night.
Oct. 22 - Cloudy. Left our camp at the mill at eight and marched threw Dallas and took the road to Stilesborough and camped on the Alabama Road.
Oct. 23 - Clear and pleasant. Went on picket on the Alabama Road.
Oct. 24 - Clear and warm. Went on picket at two.
Oct. 25 - Clear and warm.
Oct. 26 - Clear and pleasant. Ten of our troops went out after horses towards Van Wert.
Oct. 27 - Rainy. Left our camp and marched threw Burnt Hickory and camped six miles from Dallas.
Oct. 28 - Clear. Started at nine and marched to Marietta and camped near the town.
Oct. 29 - Clear and cool. The officers of our regiment returned that had been home on furlough.
Oct. 30 - Cloudy and cool. Went on picket at dark on the Rome Road.
Oct. 31 - Clear. Relieved from picket at ten.
Nov. 1 - Clear and pleasant.
Nov. 2 - Rainy.
Nov. 3 - Rainy.
Nov. 4 - Rainy. Detailed to take care of horses.
Nov. 5 - Rainy. Got four months pay.
