JOHN REYNOLDS

John Reynolds, son of Able and Sally Reynolds was born in Crawford county May 11, 1838 and died Nov. 18, 1920, aged 82 years 6 months and 7 days. Hewas married Nov. 17, 1859 to Louisa Willard who departed this life Nov. 11, 1913. To this union was born 8 children, 5 of whom are living, Orestus of West York, Martha Bradbury of West Union, Robert of Dudley, Mo., William of Palestine and Grace Buckner of Indianapolis. He leaves besides these children, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. He enlisted at Camp Butler in. Co., C. 155th Ill Regiment of Infantry, Feb. 15, 1865 and was honorably discharged in Murphysboro, Tenn. The 4th of Dec. 1865.

Uncle John, as they all called him, lived his entire life in Crawford co. and the past 30 years has lived in West York. Since the death of his companion he has made his home with his son, Orestus, where he passed away. He was a good neighbor, altho he never united with any church, he was a kind and lving father and a devoted husband. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in West York Saturday morning at eleven o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. B. Shoaff, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Bradbury cemetery.
